In many ways archaeology is very similar to good detective work: there is the site, evidence may be scattered around the area under examination and, of course, there is some form of human activity to be investigated. In addition, there is the need to 'bag and tag' all evidence as well as the need to record the location as it was found.

In establishing the facts about a particular scene an examination of all available evidence must be conducted and this includes the use of all sources on hand. The skills required to reveal the past are tested in this worksheets below: logical thinking, imagination and observation are all challenged. Now is the time to see how good an archaeologist you are!
